Givens Highland Farms, a premier nonprofit continuing care retirement community in Black Mountain, is seeking a full-time Billing Coordinator to join our Financial Operations Team. Reporting to the Community Controller, the Billing Coordinator role is crucial in helping us maintain organized and efficient accounts receivable processes. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5pm. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented person that enjoys customer service and doesn't mind recurring deadlines or multitasking. What you'll do: 

  • Perform all monthly billing functions for Residential Living, Patient Health Care, Medicare, long term care, Medicaid, and Hospice
  • Follow-up on denied billing
  • Reconcile A/R ledgers
  • Maintain accurate billing records
  • Coordinate with other departments, residents, and/or resident families on billing changes and charges to ensure timely and accurate resident billings each month
  • Review patient and resident account status monthly and address past due balances
  • Provide high-level customer service to residents and/or their families with questions on their statements or other concerns
  • Support the financial operations team at Givens Highland Farms as needed

What you'll need: 

  • Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Ability to promote positive public relations with families, visitors, and professionals
  • Proficient knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office suite
  • Data entry proficiency and attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy
  • Superior communication (both oral and written)
  • Ability to exercise discretion when handling strictly confidential information
  • Exemplary customer service skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience:

  • Billing experience in a health care setting, including knowledge of the Medicaid and Medicare Programs
  • Prior experience with MatrixCare software is a plus
