Corona Virus Update March 24, 2020  - Givens Highland Farms

Givens Highland Farms continues to monitor and respond to the ever-changing circumstances regarding COVID-19.  With support from the Buncombe County Health Department and Emergency Management, State and Federal Agencies, NCDHHS and the Centers for Disease Control, we continue to implement current and appropriate measures.

Although, we recognize the concerns over social isolation are real, we also understand how social isolation or social distancing can be very effective in combating such a virus as COVID-19. We feel the measures we have in place will assist in limiting interactions among residents, families, friends and staff members as this virus continues to impact our nation, state and county.

Health Care Center Under order from CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services), we are restricting all visitors and non-essential health care personnel except for certain compassionate care such as an end-of-life situations. In these cases, visitors will be limited to a specific room only.

Independent Living Family and friend visits are restricted to medical or care giver support purposes only.  Visitors will be required to enter at a designated entrance and undergo screenings. We know this is a difficult request but feel at this time it is the best decision for the overall wellbeing of the community. We do not wish something as genuine as a friendly visit to unnecessarily expose us to the virus.

All Staff Will be required to enter at a designated entrance and undergo screenings prior to each shift.

Our dedicated team members continue to work diligently while providing the highest level of care to all residents.

Please continue efforts to control infection by frequent and thorough handwashing, staying at home when feeling sick, and making us aware if you should show signs of symptoms and are being tested.  Please visit for reliable, up-to-date information.
